Jan Bagley
MSc. MBACP (Accred) Dip Supervision
Psychotherapist, Researcher & Lecturer
Jan is a Psychotherapist with over 25 years experience, she runs her own successful Private Practice in the Midlands.
Jan previously worked as a Lecturer in the Psychology of Mental Health with both degree and masters level students at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln.
Jan's work brings a variety of challenges and diversity which keeps me in touch with humanity on so many levels. As a Clinical Supervisor she works with the staff of a Children’s Home along with Counselling students who are in placement, and for 5 years Jan supported other counsellors working with adult transgender clients.
Jan finds her work very rewarding and says she is fortunate to work with beautiful people in all of the organisations she works with.
Most recently Jan has completed an MSc in Neuroscience, Psychiatry and Psychology of Mental Health at King’s College London, where her research continues - looking at understanding how cortisol, a stress hormone, effects our immune system, and the hypothalamus Pituitary Adrenal Axis - the hub in regulating all of our sensory, emotional and hormone responses, together with our immune system that connects to our autonomic nervous system.
Jan is currently working on a paper that connects neurodiversity and trauma in the counselling room.
Her passion is to help others to understand themselves and encourage introspection for self growth. Jan says
"I am honoured to be joining you today talking about neurodiversity and inclusion which is very dear to me - being ADHD and Dyslexic myself."
