🚀 Exploring Sora & AI’s Role in Inclusion 🌍

Writer: anna priceanna price

I’ve been playing around with Sora, and honestly? It’s mind-blowing. The ability to generate high-quality, dynamic video content is something that felt like science fiction not too long ago.

But beyond the tech itself, I’ve been thinking about its potential for fostering inclusion. One of my first tests? I asked Sora to include a non-binary person in my video. And while its interpretation was a bit... let’s say experimental, it actually did a pretty decent job.

That said, AI still has a long way to go in truly understanding representation. Case in point: I only asked for a non-binary person, but Sora got a little carried away and threw in an extra arm for good measure. Because, you know, why settle for two? 👀💪💪💪

AI models learn and evolve based on what we feed them. The more diverse, accurate, and representative our inputs, the better these tools will become at reflecting real human experiences—ideally, with the right number of limbs.

But it does raise important questions about bias, transparency, and ethical AI. If a system struggles with basic human anatomy, how well is it really handling gender identity, race, disability, or culture?

🧐 So, over to you—what are your thoughts on AI and representation? Have you spotted any quirks in generative AI models? Bonus points if you can find the extra arm in my video!
